A wonderful setting for summer or winter activities. The city of Annecy lies within the Alps on the shores of a crystal clear lake. Sailing, diving, cycling, hiking and paragliding are all options from this beautiful city. The old town has two canals and a river flowing through to the lake. Established as the court of the Count of Geneva, Annecy developed in the 19th century with silk manufacturing. Today, the city hosts many markets of local crafts and foods amongst which the alpine cheeses and sausages are the most well-known. A lovely place to enjoy several days exploring and relaxing.
