Previously known as Marienbad, Mariánské Lázně is a gorgeous spa town with pretty parks, romantic colonnades, delicate pavilions, cafes and comfortable hotels. The town is blessed with around a hundred natural springs, the waters containing carbon dioxide and mineral salts. This wealth has been attracting health tourists since the 1870s. Throughout the seasons, events are held to celebrate music, sports, theatre and various markets. Visit a gallery or enjoy a performance of the West Bohemia Symphony Orchestra. In the surrounding green forests of the Slavkovský les nature reserve there are many opportunities for walking and cycling.
