It would be difficult to imagine a more fairy-tale town than Telč in Southern Moravia. At the centre, an elongated square straight out of a Hans Christian Anderson story and a monumental 17th-century Renaissance château with by an English-style park. The town was originally built as a Royal Fort on a busy trading route. The highlight of this pretty town is undoubtedly the long square lined with highly-decorated, pastel-painted baroque houses with high gables and arches. The town remains a vibrant community with many fairs and events taking place throughout the year. The surrounding forests support many leisure activities.
