An incredibly pretty city with stunning medieval buildings surrounded by gently flowing canals. Bruges offers spectacularly beautiful views around each corner. Always a trading town, Bruges flourished from the 13th century with the cloth market. Now museums fill the old traders' mansions and restaurants and cafes bring new life to old warehouses. Churches, Squares and a 13th century Belfry decorate the centre. The Church of our Lady includes a sculpture by Michelangelo of the Madonna and Child.
